Will a steel or brass nameplate survive outdoors?
Stainless steel is the best choice for outdoor doors, gates and walls because it does not rust. Brass also works outdoors but will darken over time unless it is lacquered or polished occasionally.
How are cut-out nameplates fixed to the wall?
Cut-out nameplates are usually fixed with spacers so they stand slightly off the wall, which creates a shadow and makes the letters easier to read. Smaller plates can use screws or strong double-sided tape.
